Below is actual audio footage of the alleged demonic possession that inspired the movie “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”. The actual girl that the film was based on was named Anneliese Michel. Anneliese was reported to suffer from major psychological episodes that lasted from age 16 until she died in 1976, at the young age of 23. Her death was reported as being the result of the many exorcisms that she had been the focus of. Although psychiatric treatment was attempted for nearly a year, eventually all hope was put into the exorcisms that inspired “The Exorcism of Emily Rose.”
More than 67 exorcisms were performed on Anneliese Michel. During those exorcisms, Anneliese claimed to be the same demon that had possessed Judas Iscariot, who is responsible for betraying of Jesus Christ in biblical text.
The picture you generally see in the popular video clip, with actual recordings from the exorcism, is not typical of what Anneliese looked like throughout her life. Annaliese was a very pretty, almost all American type girl from
a strong catholic background.
Her parents were also devout Catholics, who in the end, as Annaliese had deteriorated, were reported to hold her up during the exorcism rituals. The priests responsible for the exorcisms and Annaliese Michel’s parents were eventually charged with her death.
So was Anneliese Michel actually possessed by powerful demons..The same ones who influenced biblical accounts? Or was she simply a severely troubled youth?
